On Writing...
Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson
Whereas I've been a voracious reader all my life, I have never endeavored to become a writer. However, throughout my career I have been called upon to create press releases, news articles and grant proposals in order to move my programs forward. So, here for your reading pleasure are some short pieces of writing relating to aging programs.
The first examples are two grant proposals I won to enhance our gerontology programs. One is from the International Longevity Center and MetLife for a program created to provide free training to families caring for older adults. The other is from Civic Ventures and the Deerbrook Charitable Trust for a program that recruits and trains older students for direct care careers. The next example is a feature story on an assisted living center I wrote for our local newspaper. The last is a sample contract training proposal I submitted to an estate planning firm who requested training for their sales force on communicating with their senior clients.
