On Special Events...
Some educational activities cry out for larger or special presentations. At Macomb, I've been involved with a number of large scale productions. Below are examples of two I developed for students. The first is a co-sponsored event with AARP produced in order to recruit and train older adults in careers in direct caregiving. The second is a repeating workshop for families caring for older adults. I find that I enjoy the planning and excitement surrounding the production of conferences, seminars and look forward to creating memorable events.
One event I am particularly proud of is a webinar I co-produced with AARP in order to promote the value of mature workers to local employers. Together with Deborah Russell, Director of Workforce Issues at AARP and Judy Goggin, Vice-President of Civic Ventures, we presented a one-hour webinar to a variety of health care employers, government, and private nonprofit leaders in the field of aging.
